The young man’s deep lyrical content & easy to follow hooks combined with different African influences & other sounds from different parts of the world created an intact Afro Jazz sound.Cape town based Zimbabwe born Afro jazz artist is signed to Afri Kalcha Entertanment.
Shamie titled his album “The Journey” because of what we go through as we grow up.Life is a journey.He writes about love & social issues affecting our societies everyday.
In 1996 a group called Shame & Nathan was formed & the members of the group were Shamie but that time he used the name Shame & the other member was Nathan Chitenga his childhood & long time neighbour.The late Fortune Mparutsa who worked with Mac Morrison from the Uk of the return of the mac fame produced Shame & Nathan’s first R n B single called “I do”.It was only released five years later because record companies deemed African R& B not commercially viable.Shame & Nathan became house hold names in Zimbabwe after releasing an afro pop single "Aripo wangu / Ndofara" which was voted the best wedding single in 2002.This single was produced by Delani Makhalima who has worked with H20 (SA).With the help of Kelly Rusike & Manase Manase the album “Moyo wangu / My heart was born late 2002 & it had hit songs like Mafaro chete , Taidanana & Ndauyanaye .Hazvinei was Shamie’s first solo successful album But he was still using his old name "Shame".On this album songs like Hazvinei,boogey jive,ndiwe chete e.t.c dominated the charts on 3fm Now power fm (Zimbabwe).Some of the new tracks were produced by Lasoul , Neil & himself.Shamie writes music in Tswana , Shona , English & Ndebele.
